Rancho Cucamonga Arbor Day

Rancho Cucamonga Arbor Day

Arbor Day is a National Day of recognition of planting trees. This year the city celebrated by planting seven trees in Victoria Groves Park. It is important to the community of Rancho Cucamonga to highlight what they are all about and contribute to the environment of a healthy city, recognizing the importance of trees to the community.

3rd graders from Victoria Groves Elementary School got to help plant new trees in the park next to their school, and got a hands-on lesson about how to keep trees healthy. Learning about trees and helping the community at the same time helps to teach these kids the responsibility and pride that comes with taking care of the earth.

The students even got to take home a small tree for themselves, which will hopefully keep the lessons they learned fresh in their minds when they go home. The hopes are that by planting trees like this today, the kids at Victoria Groves Elementary School will not only learn about the environment now, but it’ll plant the seeds in their minds to keep the environment green in the future.
